Within 24 hours 2 surfers were bitten at the beaches of Brevard County, Brandon Murray and Brandon Taylor. Both reveceived minor lacerations, foot and forearm.

Based on the wounds, the sharks were rather small, less than 1.5m long. Lifeguards did not see any shark in the area lately. The last two bites along Brevard Counties beaches were on May 9 and September 4.

Most of the time when minor incidents occur that include small sharks along Florida's beaches one of the most common species is invoived: blacktip, spinner or silky (the "Florida Trio").
