Francisco Javier Solorio, 39 years old, got killed by a white shark when surfing off the beaches at Vandenberg Air Force Base.

Ralph Collier from the Shark Research Committee of Chatsworth identified it to be a 15 or 16 ft white shark. The shark bit Solorio one time leaving him with a massive torso wound. This area is considered a high risk area based on evaluations of Amin & Ritter.
